Hi Guys - Here's Tuesdays route which is not that long, but structured to get the heart pumping and make future hilly runs around Brackley that little bit more manageable.
Running on the flat, just around the corner from the Football club, we'll be doing a re-run of 'Lightening Lampposts' :-)
As part of a warm up, Hi-Viz Clad, leaving the football club at 19:00 prompt, we'll head off slowly as a group along Churchill Way, up the High Street and through the town until the pubs run out (ie we stop at the Bell) and then turn back heading back down through the town, eventually reaching the NEW Fire Station. Those wanting a shorter warm up can turn at the Plough and head back the same way. When reaching the Fire Station, turn left down St James Rd until you reach the end of the road and we'll all meet near the car park of the builders merchants down there called Travis Perkins.
We'll then get into groups of similar ability and run a session that goes from the start to lamppost 1 fast, slow back, lamppost 2 fast (further away...), slow back, lamppost 3 fast (furthest away...), slow back and then a short rest for until the next 'rep' starts. We'll do 5 reps and then break for a 3-4 minute rest, do 4 more reps, break again, and then have a run all the way up to the Fire Station to finish. A short run back to the Football Club completes the session.
Confused ? (I sure will be), but hopefully we'll have a session that everyone can have a go at, regardless of speed and ability, and should be a workout for as hard as you want to make it.
See you tomorrow if you can make it
DAVID
